- the trucks or trailers you receive have changed, and you are not sure the current dock equipment still suits them
If a leveler is damaged or not working correctly, keep people and equipment clear of it until it has been checked.

- whether you need a new leveler, a repair, or maintenance
- what is happening, if something is not working
- the approximate size of the dock pit or dock edge and the height of the dock, if you already know them
- the kinds of trucks or trailers the dock serves, if you know
- what is moved across the dock, for example pallets by forklift or pallet jack
- photos of the dock from inside and outside, the leveler, and any labels or plates on it
- any timing you are working to
